Fall Excursions Fall colors peak in late September and early October making it the ideal time to explore the surrounding mountain ranges. It is also mating season for most of the larger animals so your visit will be enhanced by lots of wildlife viewing. With fewer visitors, it is a great time to enjoy the serenity of the region.

Fall Walking Tour - A Multi-Day Retreat


2013 Dates: September 26-October 1, 2013

$2350 for two people, $1660 for single


(Meals included: B=breakfast, L=lunch, D=dinner)


Day 1: Arrive in Jackson Hole and settle into The Lexington Inn and Suites. Your local guide will meet you at the Inn at 6:50 p.m. to bring you to your orientation dinner at a local restaurant. (D) 


Day 2: Teton Range Walk.We will get familiar with the southern portion of the Teton Range with a hike up to Ski Lake. This trip will give you great views of the entire Jackson valley and the Snake River Mountains. Your views of Jackson Hole are the same seen by the first explorers and settlers.

Hike Information: Distance: 6 miles/ Elevation Gain: 1600 feet (B, L) 


Day 3: Gros Ventre Range. We will be hiking in the Gros Ventre Mountains where we will have spectacular views of the Teton Range. We will walk to Goodwin Lake (elevation 9500 feet), which is a beautiful spring-fed lake, home to Brook Trout.

Hike Information: Distance: 6 miles/ Elevation Gain: 1700 feet (B, L) 


Day 4: Relax with a free day before an afternoon tour of Grand Teton National Park and Elk Bugling.Take the opportunity to enjoy Jackson's attractions at leisure; just a few blocks from the Inn are great shops and art galleries. (B, D, park entry fee included)

Meet at 4:00 p.m. to travel to Grand Teton National Park. During our scenic drive through the park, we will look for the migrating animals and elk herds. Fall is the magical time when the bull elk gather harems and bugle to establish territories. They are most vocal at sunset so we will relax, listen, and enjoy a gourmet picnic. 


Day 5: Teton Range Journey. We will travel to the west slope of the Tetons to hike to the Wind Cave. We will walk to the mouth of the cave, which snakes through the Darby Limestone Formation. After our hike, we will reward ourselves with a famous Huckleberry milkshake at the Victor Emporium. After relaxing with a hot shower, we will meet at 7:00 pm for our farewell dinner.

Day 6: Depart Jackson Hole

Fall Fiesta - A Multi-Day Retreat

We have teamed up with Inn on the Creek to offer a four-day, three-night Fall Fiesta! This package combines a spectacular hike and wildlife viewing with time for you to relax and rejuvenate.

Upon arrival, you will settle into the cozy, romantic Inn on the Creek which promises indulgent comforts. It is perfectly nestled on the banks of Flat Creek and within walking distance to the Jackson's Town Square.

While in the valley, you will explore this spectacular area with an educated naturalist. A hike customized to your ability will take you deep into the forest so you can participate with nature and touch the tranquility found outdoors. An evening will be spent seeking out the wildlife and listening to the magical elk bugle. Take time away in our tranquil valley with so much to explore.

Price is $1072, based on double occupancy. Bring your sense of adventure. Be prepared to be outdoors and we will take care of the rest. Additional activities and spa treatments are available.

Reservations require a 50% deposit. We accept Visa, MasterCard, personal check or money order. Cancellations made 14 days prior to scheduled trip results in forfeiture of all monies unless we can re-book your trip. We reserve the right to cancel any trip necessary and will refund all fees.
