Family Day Hikes

We offer day hikes for families with fun activities for kids. Learn about wildlife, eat "lemon drop" ants, and use butterfly nets. Complimentary children's activity books complete the adventure.

Hiking We are Jackson Hole's premier hiking tour company and have been offering tours in this region since 1989. We'll take you off the beaten path to explore the more peaceful corners of the valley and beyond. Our knowledgeable naturalist guides will educate you on the local flora and fauna, geology and history of The Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. We offer hiking tours for all ages and abilities.

The Explorer

Trip length: 4 hours
Rating: moderate to easy - perfect for families

Our half-day tours depart at 8 AM, 1 PM or 5:30 PM. Bottled water, snacks, transportation, and the use of fanny packs and binoculars are included.
$78 per adult, $60 per child
$15 additional for evening picnic

The Trekker

Trip length: 6 hours
Rating: all abilities

Tours depart at 8 AM. You can schedule a 6 AM departure to enjoy the peaceful early morning hours and increase the chances of wildlife viewing. Bottled water, lunch and snacks, transportation, and the use of fanny packs and binoculars are included.
$115 per adult, $95 per child

Wakeful Walking

Trip length: 4 hours
Rating: easy or moderate

Join owner, Cathy Shill, to walk and awaken in the natural world. With guidance, you will connect to your breath and body which leads you to your heart and a calm state of presence.  With examples and instruction, you will have the opportunity to grow and change.  With over twenty years of guiding and teaching, Cathy can connect you to yourself and the great outdoors. Her enthusiasm and teaching style is a gift that she shares with all. Tours depart at 7 AM, Monday through Thursday.

Alpine Adventure

Combine one of our tours with an aerial tram ride to 10,400 feet! Surrounded by breathtaking views, you will discover the subalpine and alpine environments: fossils, cushion plants, animals and birds.

The Mountaineer

Trip length: 8 hours
Rating: moderate to strenuous

Spend the day in the backcountry with a naturalist guide. Due to the duration of this tour, you can get further into the backcountry to summit a peak or explore a remote alpine lake. Tours depart at 8 AM.
$155 per adult

Granite Hot Springs Tour

Trip length: 7 hours
Rating: easy

Spend a day with a naturalist guide experiencing a fun hike, lunch, and a relaxing soak in a natural hot spring. You'll hike for several miles along Granite Creek with its beaver ponds, cascading water, mountain views and natural hot springs. After the hike, you will soak in the hot pool and have a tasty lunch. Tour departs at 8 AM.
$135 per adult, $105 per child

Experience Fall (September & October only)

Trip length: 4 hours
Rating: all abilities

Combine a wildlife tour with short walks to maximize leaf peeping and fall wildlife behavior patterns. We'll drive through scenic Grand Teton National Park and hike the Gros Ventre Slide to view spectacular highlights of Jackson Hole. The grand finale will be listening to and watching the fall rut of the Bull Elk. We provide spotting scope, binoculars, snacks, bottled water and a naturalist guide. Tour departs at 4 PM.
$135 per adult, $80 per child, excludes park admission fee

COMBINATION TOURS

Hike and Flyfishing on the Snake River (May through October only)

Rating: all abilities

Combine a guided morning hike with an afternoon of casting for native cutthroat trout on the Snake River. Meet your naturalist hiking guide at the Home Ranch parking lot at 8 AM to head off for a short hike where you'll learn about the wildlife, plants and flowers, and the ecology of Jackson Hole. Bottled water, snacks, transportation, and the use of fanny packs and binoculars are included. After time for lunch, it is off to the river with Jackson Hole Anglers where you will spend the afternoon floating and fishing from your private drift boat. Your expert guide will provide you with all the gear and instructions you will need to cast, catch and release. Beginners and experts alike will cast away as bald eagles and osprey soar overhead. Multiple guides and boats available for groups. 72-hour cancellation policy.
$250.50 per adult, 2 person minimum, excludes park admission fee, flies and Wy. Fishing License

Hike and Whitewater Raft (May 24 through September 20)

Rating: all abilities

Combine a guided morning hike with an afternoon whitewater rafting trip. Meet your naturalist hiking guide at the Home Ranch parking lot at 8 AM to head off for a short hike where you'll learn about the wildlife, plants and flowers, and the ecology of Jackson Hole. Bottled water, snacks, transportation, and the use of fanny packs and binoculars are included. After time for lunch, it is off to the river with Barker-Ewing River Trips for your 8-mile Whitewater Adventure.  Meet the raft guides at 945 W. Broadway by 1:15 PM and plan to get wet!  Downstream rapids like Three Oar Deal, Big Kahuna, Lunch Counter, Ropes and Champagne are waiting to thrill you.  You will return to town by 5:30 PM.
$140 per adult, $120 per child (6-12 years)

We personalize each tour to fit your ability and interests. Our excursions have a minimum tour rate based on the price of approximately three people. If you have fewer people in your group, we add a surcharge to cover these costs. We then promote your ideal tour to others and if we can mix the group, the surcharge is cancelled. Private tours are also available. Please inquire.

All tour necessities are provided except sturdy hiking shoes and proper layered clothing.

Child rate is for children 12 and under unless otherwise noted.

Due to our customized schedule, refunds cannot be made within 48 hours of your scheduled departure time. Special and multi-day programs have separate reservation policies.
