July in Jackson Hole has brought the kind of summer weather that makes it easy to spend as much time outside as possible. Most days have been warm and sunny, with cool, comfortable evenings and only the occasional afternoon thunderstorm rolling through. While wildfire smoke drifted into the valley at times, creating periods of hazy skies and affecting air quality on some days, there were still plenty of beautiful stretches with clear mountain views. July is peak wildflower season- lupine, fireweed, paintbrush, sticky geranium and more splash color across the valley and adding extra cheer to our hikes. As we head into August, conditions remain similar, with warm summer days, cool nights, and the chance for a few isolated thunderstorms from time to time. Smoke conditions will likely continue to vary depending on regional wildfire activity, but overall, the month is expected to offer plenty of opportunities to enjoy everything Jackson Hole has to offer outdoors.
