Grand Teton Backpacking Experience

Experience one or two nights under the stars. This is a perfect trip for families or novice backpackers to learn more about nature and the art of backpacking. A variety of terrain is available in the Tetons. Trips are personalized to your interests and physical ability.

The Southern Tetons
Trip length: 2 days/1 night
Rating: moderate
Explore the wilderness on this two day, one night adventure. Trailhead is close to Jackson for the perfect getaway! We’ll hike 2.5 miles with 1,800 foot elevation gain to a subalpine meadow. Relax for the afternoon or summit a 10,000 foot peak, time permitting. On Day two, we’ll continue into the Tetons and hike to Phillips Pass to see more of this stunning and remote area. This backpacking adventure is an unforgettable addition to your week in Jackson Hole.

The Northern Tetons
Trip length: 2 to 5 days — endless options
Rating: moderate
Explore the high country, subalpine meadows and abundant wildflowers of the Jedediah Smith Wilderness Area adjacent to Grand Teton National Park. After setting up camp near the shores of Green Lake, you’ll have time to explore the northern Teton Crest trail. On day two, spend the day hiking into the northern Tetons. On day three, you can choose to move camp to Granite Basin or continue to explore the amazing landscape on day hikes. This is a less traveled area so we can take advantage of a quiet experience in nature away from the crowds.

Atop the Tetons: Rendezvous Mountain, Grand Teton National Park, and the Jedediah Smith Wilderness
Trip length: 4 days/3 nights
Rating: moderate to strenuous
This trip starts with a tram ride to 10,400 feet at the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. We’ll leave the crowds behind as we cross through Grand Teton National Park to Moose Creek Canyon to set up camp. On day two, we’ll climb a 9,000 foot pass to a glorious alpine meadow for our next camp. On day three, we’ll summit a 10,000 ft. peak, then return to camp to relax that afternoon. On day four, we’ll enjoy the morning at camp with a tasty breakfast before our final hike out to a different trailhead.
The Details
Backpacking trips are private and designed by an expert backcountry leader. One porter is included in the price to assist carrying gear. Additional porters are available to further lighten your load. Your trek will be more comfortable without a burdensome load.
Trip includes healthy, hearty meals, snacks, knowledgeable guide, tent, ground pad, sleeping bag, and other camping necessities for a safe trip. We endorse “Tread Lightly” outdoor ethics to protect nature. Enjoy state of the art equipment to make your overnight experience more comfortable. Equipment use does require a deposit to ensure proper handling of gear.
Trip prices reflect an interactive camp so campers learn the art of backpacking which includes water filtration, safe travel in bear country, camp set-up, and guidance from your expert leader. Backpacking Reservation Policy:
Reservations require a 50% deposit. We accept Visa, MasterCard, personal check or money order. Balance is due 30 days prior to scheduled trip. Cancellations made 30 days prior to departure receive full refund less a $200 reservation charge. Cancellations made within 30 days of departure result in forfeiture of all monies unless we can re-book your trip. We reserve the right to cancel any trip necessary and will refund all fees. Clients are responsible for proper use of equipment while on trips and cost of any repairs/replacements.
