Winter Wildlife Tours in Grand Teton and Beyond

Join an educated naturalist to learn about the magnificent wild animals that live in Jackson Hole.
Our Grand Teton winter wildlife tours visit mixed habitats of elk, moose, deer, fox, bighorn sheep, eagles, trumpeter swans, and so much more. Choose a wildlife driving tour or combine a driving tour with snowshoeing, a sleigh ride on the National Elk Refuge, or a full day in the backcountry.
Tours include:
Educated and experienced naturalist guide, use of interpretive materials, binoculars or spotting scopes, backpack or waist pack, snowshoe rental if applicable, transportation, souvenir water bottle, water, and snacks (or lunch for longer tours).
Please bring:
Guests should dress warmly for driving tours. For combination tours, guests should dress as they would to go skiing with warm layered clothing and a waterproof outer layer. A winter hat, gloves, neck gaiter, warm socks, and warm, waterproof boots are required. Boots and clothing can be rented locally. Please inquire. Sunglasses, sunscreen, a cap with a brim, and a phone/camera are encouraged.
Winter Wildlife (4-Hour Driving Tour)
Trip length: 4 hours
Tours depart at 7:15 a.m. or 1:15 p.m.
Join us for a private tour at dawn or dusk to explore wildlife habitats in Jackson Hole, including the National Elk Refuge and Grand Teton National Park. Enjoy snowy vistas while touring by vehicle and spotting wildlife. We’ll visit mixed habitats and look for a wide range of animals, raptors, and birds, including elk, moose, bighorn sheep, deer, coyote, bison, wolves, fox, and eagles. Locations vary depending on weather and road conditions. Timing may be adjusted for optimal touring.

Afterward, guests will enjoy the serenity and immersion of snowshoeing in nature for 1 to 1.5 hours.

Then travel through the majestic elk herd on the National Elk Refuge by horse-drawn sleigh. The sleigh ride is a public, group experience included in the rate.
