April is considered off season in Jackson Hole. Locals journey to sunny spots. Restaurants offer discounts. Hotels close for spring cleaning. The town has a restful feel. It’s the ideal month to drive into Grand Teton Park. Grizzles are moving and two sows with cubs frequent Oxbow Bend. I watched a cub dig for pocket gophers. Amazing how present animals can be. It didn’t care one bit that a line of cars/people watched its’ progress as it worked through the sage flat. The Oxbow is also home to numerous other animals. A muskrat was enjoying an afternoon snack of some type of plant. Swans lazily swam on the clear, calm water. The American white pelicans were grouped for an afternoon nap. The setting was peaceful and serene. A quiet April throughout Jackson Hole- enjoyed by us all.
