June has been an amazing month. The blossoms hang heavy on the plants so meadows are bright with color and diversity. Arrowleaf Balsamroot shines on the hillsides giving everything a hue of bright yellow. With the solstice, days are long and many people are in Jackson Hole enjoying the parks, being outdoors, and experiencing nature’s beauty.
Earlier this week, I shared the Earthfire Institute with some folks from Utah. It is a wildlife sanctuary and retreat center in Tetonia, Idaho. This 40-acre property gives you the chance to experience nature and wildlife. Jean and Susan have done an amazing job creating the space to visit with native animals, to learn from them, and to connect on a deeper level. After a brief orientation, you have the opportunity to visit with the animals. Imagine being in a garden with a wolf! They are curious and playful. The love between Susan, Jean and the animals is apparent and you can be with them to reflect as you take part in the profound bond between all life. Awe comes to mind as we learn from them and create ways to sustain all life and set our intention to help- to increase awareness for all beings.
You can join me to spend a day to visit the institute, see the wildlife gardens and property. To be with the native animals -wolves, grizzly bears, coyote, fox, mountain lion, bison, and much more. After an exhilarating morning, we hike in the mountains to connect to nature and learn about the native habitats of these majestic animals.
The Hole Hiking Experience offers a variety of nature excursions from hiking, wildlife tours, yoga/hike, and the unique opportunity to visit the wildlife sanctuary. You can even join me to discover Bhutan- the jewel of the Himalayas. Opportunities abound. As John Muir said- “In every walk with nature, one receives far more than he seeks.”
