April came with a mix of weather but not enough moisture to slow down our spring thaw. We ended the winter season with about 75% of average snowfall or 316 inches. As January ends, snow is deep in the mountains, elk and bison are being fed on the National Elk Refuge, over 250 inches of snow has fallen at 9000 feet and a rain/snow mix falls at lower elevations. October has been a beautiful month. We’ve had the perfect balance of sun, warmth, rain and early frost. The light seems to change daily as it softens into shorter days.
